Carefirst Campus of Care
In 2020 & 2021, COVID-19 caused unprecedented challenges for many non-profit organizations and thousands of seniors who rely on community services to maintain their well-being. It also exposed the flaws in our health system and the neglect that Ontario seniors receiving long-term care expeireince. With your support, we hope to continue providing quality care and reach more seniors in the community.
Carefirst is very pleased to share that the Ministry of Long-Term Care approved our application to develop a "Campus of Care" at 9893 Leslie Street, Richmond Hill in November 2020. The Campus of Care will address the shortcomings of existing long-term care homes. It will consist of a 120-bed long-term care home; a community hub with an elderly persons centre; a gym; a community kitchen; and a famiy medicine and medical specialties centre that will serve more than 10,000 patients each year.
Our goal is to raise $7 million within the next three years to support the construction of the $60-million capital project, which we aim to complete by the end of 2023.
