Registration & Participation

Is registration FREE?

 

Yes, registration is free. We welcome all age groups to register and participate in Carefirst Charity Walk for Health. Encourage and share with your family and friends to join together!

 

Go to Register/Login to fill in the form and register as a participant. Here you can setup your personal or team fundraising page and view your profile. 

 

Thank you for participating! Remember to send us photos and video clips of you participating. Share them with us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) using the hashtag #CarefirstStayFit.

 

 

I forgot my login username and/or password, how do I recover this information?

 

To recover this information please go to Register/Login. Click ‘Forgot password’, enter your account email address and then click ‘Forgot password’. You will receive an email to reset your password.

 

 

How do I send or share with you photos and videos of me participating?

 

Post a photo or video of you participating on your social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and add the hashtag #CarefirstStayFit before posting. 

 

You can search #CarefirstStayFit on social media to view other shared photos and videos.

Can I still attend the event if I did not register as a walker?

 

Absolutely! Please join us on August 17, 2024 at Carefirst One-Stop Multi-Services Centre to walk together, support other walkers, and enjoy a fun filled day of programs including games, performances, information booths and food.

We also appreciate any support we can get. Help us SPREAD THE WORD and/or donate to Carefirst's services. Alternatively, you can donate to friends directly taking part in the event.

My elderly parents are not able to walk, but they would still like to participate in some way. How can they be involved? 

 

We encourage everyone to stay fit in any way they can, from cardio-intensive workouts to light breathing exercises. Remember to send us photos and video clips of you participating! Share them with us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) using the hashtag #CarefirstStayFit.

 

We also appreciate any support we can get. Help us SPREAD THE WORD and/or donate to Carefirst's services. Alternatively, you can donate to friends directly taking part in the event.

How do I register a team?

 

Go to Register/Login. Fill in the form to register as a participant and to setup your team fundraising page. If you are already registered, click ‘Log in’ to manage your profile and team fundraising page. When you are logged in, on your Dashboard go to ‘Profile’ and select ‘Start a team’. Here you can fill in the form to register your team.

 

After creating your team, share your team fundraising webpage to your teammates so they can click ‘Join this team’ to fill out the form to become a team member.

 

Be sure to also manage your own page, as people with your team link will be redirected to the personal pages of the members when deciding to donate to them.

How do I join a team?

 

Contact your team captain to provide you with the team’s fundraising webpage. There you can select ‘Join this team’. Please register or if you’re already registered, please log in. Once you are logged in, under the ‘Profile’ tab, make sure that ‘Join a team’ is selected and then fill in the form.

Is there a minimum number of members required to form a team?

 

No. But of course, the more the merrier! Invite people to join your team!

 

 

 

How much moderate physical activity does a person need?

 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), adults need 150 minutes each week of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle strengthening activity.

 

 

What is my fundraising goal?

 

There is no minimum fundraising requirement. Thank you for your donation and supporting Carefirst.

 

 

How do I fundraise?

 

Share your fundraising webpage with family and friends by email or social media using the Share button on your Dashboard, or use the broadcast email tool under the Promote tab on your Dashboard. You can see your fundraising webpage URL in your Profile tab. We recommend you to send out several follow up reminder emails to maximize results. Your donors can access your fundraising webpage to click 'Donate now' to donate. 

Alternatively, donors can go to carefirstwalkathon.com, under the Donate tab and go to 'Donate to a participant' to make a donation to a participant or team. 

 

You can also fundraise with our Pledge Form.

 

Thank your donors. Make sure your donors know they are appreciated.

 

 

Can I fundraise by going door-to-door?

 

For the safety of our participants, we do not encourage door-to-door donation solicitation.

 

 

Is there any age restriction on who can participate or donate?

 

No there is no age restriction. We welcome everyone of all ages to participate in this good cause and have fun while staying active and healthy.

 

 

Donations

Is there a minimum donation amount required?

 

There is no minimum donation amount requirement. Thank you for your donation and supporting Carefirst. 

 

 

When will donations be counted for prizes?

 

To be eligible for the prizes, the pledge amount, age, number, and time must be received by Carefirst on or before September 9, 2024. Prize presentation will be announced at a later date.

 

 

Are donations refundable?
 
Sorry, all donations are non-refundable.  
 
 

Do I get a donation receipt?

 

Official tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.

 

 

Safety Protocols 

How do you keep my information (i.e. credit card number) safe?

 

Only your goal, name and amount raised (if enabled) will appear on your personal fundraising page and the Leader Board. Your physical address, email, phone number and other personal information will not be displayed on the website or shared with others.
